'House' Music

Thursday 15th March proved a big day for Macadamia House as our Director, Yolande Bromet, was interviewed live on ABC Radio.
Yolande was in fine voice as she discussed the recent flood crisis with presenter Wayne Shearman.
Unfortunately Bauple was not left high and dry. Heavy rains hit the region on Sunday 4th March, with over 400ml falling in 14hrs. Small creeks bordering the farm became raging rivers and white water, rising over 5m, lead to wash-outs, infrastructure damage, as well as tree damage.
The heavy downpour left much of the farm submerged - with nowhere to go, the water simply sat; and so did we. Many residents were trapped for up to five days, unable to cross the rising creeks.
That said, Macadamia House was able to open from Tuesday, fully stocked with fuel, groceries and plenty of macadamia nuts. As for the Nutmobile, he too stood his ground!
Turns out Yolande has a voice for radio! She'll be back on air later this year when ABC returns to the area with plans to broadcast live from the Bauple museum. We'll keep you posted on the date so be sure to tune in!
